baked apples easy air fryer

The smell of apple pie is everywhere during fall, in coffee shops, cafes, and just about any dessert shop. I'm a huge fan of apples, and when they are baked with a little bit of cinnamon as well as some nuts on top, it's the perfect fall dessert!

Inspired by our 100% plant-based Apple Pomander scent, whether you're in search of a healthier dessert option, or just love apples, this simple baked air fryer apple recipe is sure to be loved by all. Best of all they cook in minutes in your air fryer!

So, let me tell you more about it before you head over to grab the recipe and your scoop of vanilla bean ice cream (mmm).

What you'll need:

  • 4 apples

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (or more as desired)

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (Or butter!)

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

  • 1/3 cup raisins (optional)

Coconut oil is a healthy fat that contains medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). MCTs are metabolized differently than other fats, and they can help with weight loss and keeping you feeling full longer.

Pecan nuts are a great source of protein, vitamin E, iron and zinc. They also contain healthy fats that help to lower your cholesterol levels.

Adding raisins to the apple mixture gives you a sweet and chewy addition, but not too much. Raisins are also a great source of iron, fiber, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C.

How to make it:

  1. Turn the air fryer on to 390 degrees F.

  2. Cut apples in half from stem to bottom and use a paring knife, spoon, or melon scoop to remove the core, stem, and part of the inside to create a hollow opening. Set aside.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice.

  4. Fill the apples with your preferred amount of brown sugar mixture and add a dab of coconut oil (or butter) on top of each apple.

  5. Add your preferred amount of pecans and raisins to the top of each apple.

  6. Place into the air fryer basket, setting upright in middle. Bake for 18 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork. Remove from the air fryer and serve warm. And add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you'd like!

  7. Enjoy 🤤

If you are looking for a healthier alternative to fried apples, then this recipe is perfect for you! The combination of spices and coconut oil makes these baked apples taste and smell delicious.
